Pharmapack Europe took place in 2015 on 11-12 February in Paris Expo, Porte de Versailles in Paris. Considered as “The place to be” for the pharmaceutical and drug delivery supply chain, the event gathers the main players in the industry to meet with the leading global suppliers and discover the latest innovation in pharmaceutical packaging and drug delivery.

More than 3000 visitors from 60 countries attended Pharmapack Europe 2015, to meet with 380 exhibitors from 32 countries. The event attracted 79 new companies for this 2015 edition (10% of growth) with leading global companies such as SHL Group, Axway and Baltimore Innovation, Pharmapack Europe has a growing international visiting audience, with 43% of the audience from 67 countries. With a growing and global audience Pharmapack Europe has a loyal and increasing exhibiting audience, with 87% of 2014’s companies renewing their participation for the 2015 event, the event still keeps its focused and innovative approach to pharmaceutical packaging and drug delivery.

Innovation leads Pharmapack Europe 2015

As the hub for innovation in pharmaceutical packaging and drug delivery, Pharmapack Europe quite naturally stood out as the place to see the latest products and technology in action, 2015 was no different with even more innovation!
“It is essence of pharmaceutical packaging in Europe all in one place”, noticed Helen Marshall, Global Category Manager, Astra Zeneca at Pharmapack Europe 2015.

Many of the suppliers showcasing their technology reserved their products launches to reveal in front of the industry at Pharmapack Europe. To ensure visitors made the most of this, the organizers offered access to the Learning Lab where providers could showcase their launches in 30 minute presentations, providing an open and interactive space. 11 companies took advantage of this space, such as Cryopak Europe, Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Company, Biocorp, Bolloré Thin Papers, Ompi or still Iwata Label.

Innovation was also present in the popular Innovation Gallery, situated at the heart of the event, where visitors were able to discover 20 new products and 3 rwere recongnized in the Pharmapack Awards on February 11th. The prize-winners are:

  • RebiSmart® by Merck Serono in « Innovative Technology and Adherence », an electronic device auto-injection allowing the customization of various parameters for the patient, the programming of reminders and a facilitated follow-up, and the dialogue with the MSdialog platform on which are collected all the data patient in a anonymous way.
  • Easybox® by Teva Laboratories in « Easy Compliance and Senior Friendly », allowing to facilitate delivery medicine in pharmacy and to accompany the patients every day in their treatment.
  • « bucomax » by laboratories Pierre Fabre Médicaments and Cinfa in « OTC Advice Optimisation », presented in a wallet offering a compact and mobile shape for 2 days treatment.

 

Celebrating innovation!

A highlight of this edition, Pharmapack Europe offered the Pharmapack Awards to celebrate industry innovation and excellence from exhibitors at the show. 3 winners were awared by a panel of expert judges consisting of industy leaders and academics. 1 winner, for the first time was voted for by the visiting public. The winners were:

  • « Safety Syringe System », Credence MedSystems
  • « Datapen », Biocorp
  • « Tamper evident folding box », Igb.

The visitors’s winner is:

  • « Press & Take », Stiplastics.

Pharmapack International Meeting Programme – Connecting Innovation

A new launch for 2015: the Pharmapack International Meeting Programme, provided a new service to ensure buyers could meet the innovative solutions to meet their needs. To optimize visitor time during the event, users of the service indicate their needs and areas of interest and the dedicated software proposes technology and services that meet those needs.

More than 1300 meeting requests were sent and over 260 meetings were scheduled. At the event over 400 meetings took place, providing a real source of satisfaction for the entire audience.

Education central to innovation

Again, Pharmapack Europe produced an extremely rich conference programme, attracting more than 200 attendees. With sessions offering the latest insight into the major news headlines, industry professionals discovered regulation updates for medical devices, innovation in packaging materials and injectable systems, packaging and drug delivery in oncology and animal health to improve treatment and compliance. A technical symposium, dedicated to serialization and aggregation vital for pharmaceutical companies to implement for European regulations on falsified medicine and two workshops dedicated to the Chinese market and combined products completed an expert programme.
